2009 is fully upon us, a month of changes and resolutions. Most everyone resolves in one way or another to be more healthy. Whether its eating healthy, being financially or physically fit.
So where do we start? For me it's been about stretching, creating a regular habit of gently pushing and pulling my body to be more relaxed and pliable. Jumping into a heavy workout program can be difficult on the body, getting loose and limber is important.
Maybe your gym offers a yoga or stretch class. They probably have trainers that can help you design the work out that is best for lifestyle and physical challenges. Be specific. Do you want strength, weight loss, heart health? Too many times people jump into a workout that may injure more than heal. Spending time doing light but gradually challenging stretches creates a dialogue and first hand understanding of your bodies needs.
Their are numerous videos, books and classes available. Please feel free to share with us your favorite yoga, tai chi or Pilate's classes and forms. Desiree and Garry(founder and co-founder) are looking into classes with an 80 year old tai chi master.
